September 2024

Squirrels

What a September we have had with Squirrels as we have welcomed everyone back after the summer break.

The first meeting we worked together on aspects of the squirrel promise. The squirrels paired up a d took it in turns to be blindfolded and guided around a obstacle course showing how we work together to be helpful, they also went outside on a bug hunt to show how to love our world. We also made a code of conduct ensuring everyone is kind, helpful, listens and most of all has fun.

We continued getting to know each other by playing games with the parachute running underneath if we had a sibling, had been to the beach, went to school. The children then drew around their hands and drew, coloured, and wrote things that made them, who they are. Lots of them love pizza and having outings with their families.

We invested two of our newer squirrels who made their promise and gained their membership badge and 1st Bistre Neckers.

To make the most of the lighter evenings we went on a soggy hike around Moel Famau learning all the special qualities of different trees and collect pieces of nature to use in future sessions. The squirrels were amazing and enjoyed their first trip on the minibus.

We have had so much fun and can’t wait to see what fun we get up to the rest of this term.

Beavers

Beavers have got off to a fantastic start this term, we have welcomed new members into our group with a games night where we were able to get to know each other and making new friends.

The next session saw us go on a hike to Nercwys Forest, where we were able to see some of our local wildlife in their natural habitat.

Our most recent session was planned by our fantastic young leader, Daisy where we covered our space badge. We had lots of fun in the short time with lots of activities planned to look forward to coming up. Watch this space to find out about our upcoming programme……!
