A Smurfy Adventure Awaits

Mark your calendars! The Beavers of 1st Bistre are heading for a fun-filled Smurfs-themed camp on the 30th of September 2023 at Gladstone.

The name ‘Smurfs on Camp’ was inspired by the Beaver’s nicknames, the ‘Ninja Blues’. The camp will be a one-night escape into the magical forest, reminiscent of the Smurfs’ own enchanted village.

Forest Frolics and Learning: The Camp Activities

Our camps are always exciting, but there’s something special about the upcoming Smurfs Camp. For many, it’s their first camp since lockdown, an exciting chance to reconnect with each other and get hands-on with some basic scout skills.

Activities will abound, all intertwined with the captivating Smurfs theme. We’ll have forest exploration, engaging games, classic scout activities, and, of course, the quintessential campfire experience.

Building Skills and Confidence: The Purpose of the Camp

But the camp isn’t just about fun. It’s about building self-confidence, independence, and learning life skills. Campers will have the opportunity to practice and develop their teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Through these varied activities, we aim to nurture the development of #SkillsforLife in each Beaver.

Joining the Smurf Brigade: Sign-Up and Preparations

For interested Beavers, signing up for the camp is straightforward. You can do so through the link on our Facebook page or by contacting us via email. Campers will be provided with a kit list to prepare for the camp. Parents, we encourage you to help your Beaver practice packing their bag before the big day.

What Makes this Camp Special?

This is the first Smurfs on Camp for our Beavers, making it an even more memorable experience.

While this event doesn’t require parent helpers or offer special leadership roles for older scouts, it is a shining example of how scouting can shape young minds. Through the camp’s challenges and adventures, the Beavers will not only learn vital skills but will also grow personally.

We hope that the Beavers will take away valuable experiences and memories from the Smurfs on Camp. And who knows, they may even spot a Smurf or two in the forest!
