Welcome to the Newest Addition – The Squirrels Drey

Something exciting has happened at the 1st Bistre Scout Group! In January 2023, we made the fantastic decision to expand our family with a new addition – the Squirrels Drey. A delightful home for children aged between 4 and 5.5 years, eager to start their Scouting journey.

Inspired by the Curious Nature of Squirrels

Why Squirrels, you might ask? Well, the decision was made with a shared laugh and a lot of enthusiasm. Squirrels, in their playful, curious nature, reflect the spirit of what we want to foster in our newest and youngest recruits. And let’s not forget, they make the cutest mascots – say hello to Oakley, a friendly figure who’s quickly become a beloved part of our Squirrels sessions.

The Early Days of the Drey

In just a short span of time, our Drey has welcomed ten delightful Squirrels, all brimming with energy and keen to explore. The atmosphere during the sessions has been nothing short of electrifying. The laughter, the excitement, and the joy are tangible, making our Scout Hut an even more vibrant place.

Exciting Activities and Future Plans

Our Squirrels have a lot to look forward to. From messy play and picnic days to den building and engaging storytelling sessions, there’s a wonderful mix of fun and learning lined up. But the adventure doesn’t stop there. In the coming September term, our Squirrels are in for a treat as we plan to take them to their first-ever camp!

Joining the Squirrels Family

Seeing these young ones embrace the scouting spirit and immerse themselves in the activities fills us with joy. While we’re yet to have a standout moment or success story, we believe that every session, every activity, and every interaction is contributing to their personal growth and development.
